Participants on the program included his father, Bishop Curtis E. Edmonds, Sr., the retired pastor of St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church in Portsmouth, Virginia. Also participating were Shiloh Old Site’s pastor, the Rev. Aaron Dobynes; Rev. Ritta Armstead from Shiloh Old Site; Dr. Kelton Edmunds, professor of history at California University of Pennsylvania; and Minister Kip Johnson of Colossians Baptist Church in Newport News, Virginia.

Curtis Edmonds, Jr., is a native of Portsmouth, Virginia, the oldest son of Bishop and Mrs. Curtis Edmonds, Sr. He is a product of Portsmouth Public Schools. Curtis earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a minor in Criminal Justice from Old Dominion University. He is also a graduate of the Executive Development program at the Darden School of Business, University of Virginia.
Currently, he is pursuing a Master of Divinity degree from the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University in Richmond, Virginia. He is currently on schedule to graduate during May 2021.
Curtis accepted Christ at an early age. He has remained active in church activities and ministries since that initial commitment.
For twenty-seven years prior to his relocating to Fredericksburg and joining Shiloh Baptist Church (Old Site), Curtis was a member of St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, which was under the leadership of his father, Bishop Curtis Edmonds, Sr. Curtis was actively involved and served in the following capacities: Trustee Ministry, Sunday School Teacher, Brotherhood Ministry, Vacation Bible School Teacher, Athletics Ministry, and a Human Resources Advisor.
Curtis currently serves on the ministerial staff at Shiloh Baptist Church (Old Site) as a Minister in Training.
Curtis has always believed in giving back to the community. He has volunteered as a Little League baseball coach, as an adult learning tutor, and as a mentor. He was also selected as a member of the inaugural class of the Grace E. Harris Minority Political Leadership Institute.
Curtis is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated. He is currently employed as a Human Resources Manager with Euro-Composite Corporation in Culpeper, Virginia.
