The Fredericksburg Area Sickle Cell Association (FASCA) has long received a significant measure of its support from the Shiloh Old Site church family.
In the past, one of the ways this support was extended was through an annual walk-a-thon. Unfortunately, during the COVID-19 pandemic, an in-person walk-a-thon cannot be safely held.
Nevertheless, from September 24–26, 2021, FASCA is having a “virtual” walk-a-thon.
- Kevin Ward from our congregation is providing important leadership for this effort.
- Kevin would greatly appreciate members and friends of Shiloh Old Site contributing on-line toward a specific number of “miles” to be run in “virtual” fashion.
- You can sign up as a supporter of the “virtual” walk-a-thon by clicking here. You can give securely and help support this important effort. A gift of any size will be greatly appreciated.
- A graphic about the walk-a-thon can be found at the bottom of this page.
- If you want to know more about the life-changing work of FASCA, you can go to FASCAonline.com.
- The Rev. Lawrence A. Davies, our pastor emeritus, played a key role in the founding of the Fredericksburg Area Sickle Cell Association, which has led to significant benefits for countless individuals over the years.
- Many of Shiloh Old Site’s own members have served on FASCA’s board, including volunteering their time and efforts for the good of the larger community.
