Shiloh Old Site’s Norma Burruss Foreign Missions Ministry organized a meal preparation day on June 18, 2022. A caring multitude from the Shiloh Old Site congregation gathered to prepare nutritious but dehydrated meals to be shipped to Haiti for distribution to hungry Haitian brothers and sisters. The final distribution was being organized by Shiloh Old Site’s long-time foreign missions partner, the Lott Carey Foreign Mission Convention.
By the time the day was over, twenty thousand meals had been packed and prepared for shipment. Shiloh Old Site’s Deacon Mary Edwards, along with others from the Foreign Missions Ministry, spearheaded the effort.
The effort was a reminder of the many ways in which Shiloh Old Site strives to be relevant in its foreign missions presence. It was also a reminder of our long-term commitment to play a role in helping to relieve global hunger.
Photos from the day can be found below, along with a video of Pastor Aaron Dobynes, Sr., talking about the effort.
“We continue to be grateful to all those who volunteered and displayed the love of Christ through their financial support and tangible deeds,” said Deacon Edwards, looking back on the day.
