Visitors are always welcome at Shiloh Baptist Church (Old Site), located at 801 Sophia Street, on the Rappahannock River in downtown Fredericksburg, Virginia.
Our Sunday morning service begins at 10 a.m. and lasts about 90 minutes.
Parking is available on the streets around the church or in the large city parking lot behind our church building. On rare occasions, you might want to use the city parking garage, located just two blocks down Sophia Street toward the railroad tracks. The city parking garage is at the corner of Wolfe Street and Sophia Street. The entrance is from Wolfe Street. A modest fee is charged for using the city parking garage.
Due to some functional problems, we aren’t currently entering our building through the big double wooden doors that face the front sidewalk. So we invite you to enter instead through the inset glass door that’s about 20 feet to the left of the wooden double doors.
Our sanctuary is one flight up from street level. After you enter through the glass door, you can turn to the left and ride up on our elevator. Or you can turn to the right and walk up the main stairs to the sanctuary, where an usher will greet you and give you a copy of the Sunday bulletin.
Our Sunday service includes music, scripture, prayer, and a message by our pastor or a guest speaker.
Children are welcome to either sit with their parents or participate in a special children’s church program that is offered most Sundays in our first-floor multi-purpose room, located directly below the sanctuary.
Restrooms for both men and women are available on the sanctuary level in the hallway near the elevator.
We celebrate communion on the first Sunday of each month.
If you’re interested in joining our congregation in its efforts to minister to our community and world in Christ’s name, we would be delighted to have you do so. At the conclusion of each Sunday’s message, the “doors of the church are opened,” and those who wish to join our fellowship are invited to walk to the front of the sanctuary, where one of our deacons will be standing, ready to take your name and contact information.

Welcome to a spiritually empowered haven of hope
Since 1854, we at Shiloh have tried to manifest the spirit of Christ, faithfully serving others as God’s liberating and transforming word. We’re located at 801 Sophia Street, on the river in downtown Fredericksburg, Virginia 22401.
Our historic building on the river in Downtown Fredericksburg is badly in need of exterior repairs and renovations to protect our ability to continue serving as a beacon of hope for all who are in need of Christ’s love and grace. The cost of the work is likely to be in excess of $175,000. We invite you to contribute to this project. Specially designated online gifts can be entered by CLICKING HERE.
