The ministerial team at Shiloh Baptist Church (Old Site) transforms and empowers members of the congregation and community, in keeping with the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit. The team leads, develops, and serves by supporting our pastor and by providing congregational care and community outreach. And always it strives to do so with the spirit of excellence.
In all that our ministers do, they seek to remember and honor words originally found in the ancient book of Isaiah, later dramatically quoted and affirmed by Jesus:
“The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to set the oppressed free,
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
—Luke 4:18-19 (NIV)
LEADERSHIP RETREAT, SEPTEMBER 2026
The deacons and ministers of Shiloh Baptist Church (Old Site) attended a joint Leadership Retreat, September 26, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., focusing on collaboration, congregational care, and leadership development. One of the priorities was to work together to implement “best practices” within all of the church’s Family Ministry Teams. The training was facilitated by Rev. Felecia Tubbs, Rev. NJ Robinson, and Deacon Andrew Hence. The agenda consisted of truth-telling, role plays, discussions, and team-building activities. Throughout the day, our pastor, the Rev. Aaron L. Dobynes, shared some ideas, wisdom, and nuggets. Everyone came away with a growth mindset and a shared goal of providing the best service and care possible to both the congregation and community. Everyone left excited and committed to what we worked on. A follow-up session is being planned, after which there will be a formal introduction of the Family Ministry Teams to the congregation. Welcome to a spiritually empowered haven of hope
Since 1854, we at Shiloh have tried to manifest the spirit of Christ, faithfully serving others as God’s liberating and transforming word. We’re located at 801 Sophia Street, on the river in downtown Fredericksburg, Virginia 22401.
Our historic building on the river in Downtown Fredericksburg is in need of critically important interior repairs and renovations, which will enable us to better serve as an ongoing beacon of hope for all who are in need of Christ’s love and grace.
