How to apply for a Burruss Scholarship if you are about to begin your higher education
If you are a member of Shiloh Baptist Church (Old Site) and will soon begin your college, university, or advanced vocational education, you may apply for a Burruss Educational Scholarship. Your application and all supporting materials are due by May 15.
Applications are reviewed by a committee of Shiloh Old Site members. Awards are announced each year in June.
To apply for a beginning educational scholarship, you must do all of the following no later than May 15:
- Scroll down and fill in all the white boxes in the personal on-line application found below. Then click the Submit button.
- Ask a teacher, guidance counselor, employer, or community organization leader to submit the appropriate on-line reference form found here.
- Ask a Shiloh Old Site member (not a family member) who knows of your church involvements to submit the church-related on-line reference form found here.
- Submit your current high school transcript or a certification of your completion of an accredited GED program.
PLEASE NOTE:
>> If you have the transcript in digital form, you may attach it to an email by clicking here.
>> If you prefer, you may submit your transcript by postal mail (but please allow lots of time for delivery). The address for sending a transcript by postal mail is Burruss Scholarship Committee, Shiloh Baptist Church (Old Site), 801 Sophia Street, Fredericksburg, Virginia 22401.
>> If your high school wishes to submit the transcript directly to the committee by email, then tell your high school to send the transcript to: burruss-scholarship@shiloholdsite.org.
